1970 – Midwest Contracting and Manufacturing Incorporated
company begins
Harold G. Walker starts Midwest Contracting and Manufacturing
Incorporated in WaKeeney, Kansas manufacturing agricultural
component parts for several farm machinery companies including:
-Bush-Hog, Salma, AL
-Sunflower Mfg., Inc., Beloit, KS
-Flex-King, Quinter, KS
-M&W Gear Company, Gibson City, IL
-Baker Mfg., Alva, OK
-CrustBuster, Dodge City, KS
1979 - Midwest Contracting and Manufacturing Incorporated
sells to Galen Olson.
Galen Olson expands Midwest Contracting and Manufacturing
Incorporated into oil field industry.
1983 - Midwest Contracting and Manufacturing Incorporated
sells to Jim Funk & Bob Funk (Not Related).
Agriculture and oil industry products weaken and Midwest Contracting
and Manufacturing Incorporated develops the Dirt King Scooter.
1985 - Midwest Contracting and Manufacturing Incorporated
starts developing the Dirt King Tricycle.
Rewording a few words from Henry Ford we would build the Dirt King
any color you want as long as it was Red.
1987 - Midwest Contracting and Manufacturing Incorporated
starts offering other colors for the Dirt King Trike.
Midwest Contracting and Manufacturing Incorporated adds new colors
for the Dirt King including blue, green, and pink.
1990 - Midwest Contracting and Manufacturing Incorporated
introduces the "ActiLift".
Midwest Contracting and Manufacturing Incorporated starts producing
and selling a vertical platform lift to make buildings wheelchair
accessible. They were used primarily in small business locations and
churches.
1994 - Midwest Contracting and Manufacturing Incorporated
goes online with the Dirt King.
Midwest Contracting and Manufacturing Incorporated launches the first
MCM Manufacturing, Inc. (http://www.mcm-ks.com) website.
The Dirt King tricycle moves into vast numbers of daycare centers,
preschools, and military installations marking the beginning of the end of
“wimpy foreign tricycles!”
1996 - Midwest Contracting and Manufacturing
Incorporated adds new Dirt King models.
Midwest Contracting and Manufacturing Incorporated
develops the Dirt King Child Dually Tricycle and the Dirt King
Adult Dually Tricycle.
1998 - Midwest Contracting and Manufacturing
Incorporated introduces the Spin-About.
The Spin-About three wheel trike is developed for party
rental companies and campgrounds
2000 - Midwest Contracting and Manufacturing
Incorporated attends IAAPA in Atlanta.
Midwest Contracting and Manufacturing Incorporated
attends the International Association of Amusement Parks
and Attractions displaying the Dirt King family of trikes.
2009 - Midwest Contracting and Manufacturing
Incorporated sells to Senne Company.
Midwest Contracting and Manufacturing Incorporated sells to
Senne Company in Topeka, Kansas looking to expand their
operation. Jim & Bob Funk remain with the new corporation
as stockholders and consultants. The new company has been
renamed MCM Manufacturing, Inc.
2012 - MCM Manufacturing, Inc. and the “Step Thru”.
Development begins on a new adult tricycle version with ease
of riding in mind. The “Dirt King Step Thru” is started.
2012 - MCM Manufacturing, Inc. and the “Little
Twister”.
The DK-350 "Little Twister" is developed and goes into
production the last quarter of 2012. It is a new twist on
tricycle riding with two castor wheels on the rear instead of
the usual rim/tire setup. That makes for an extreme ride!!
